A Little Bit
of History

Every piece of jewellery has a history, and so does every jeweller.

Thank you for taking the time to visit Edward J. Byworth. Below is a brief timeline of my journey through the trade, from my earliest days in the industry learning from my father, right up to the present day.

WHERE IT BEGAN

A family in the trade.

The Byworth family's journey in the jewellery trade began in 1881 with the founding of H. A. Byworth. Established as a jewellery manufacturer in London, exceptional craftsmanship and traditional techniques were at the heart of the business from the outset.

Learning the trade

I entered the business at eighteen years old, learning alongside my father before travelling to gain further experience in New York.

ALONG COMES ED

One hundred years later.

Some of my earliest memories are of my father, David, returning home with jewellery and gemstones acquired during his travels. While the beauty of these pieces was captivating, it was their history and provenance that fascinated me most as I grew up.

From cherished family heirlooms to exceptional signed jewels, each piece had a story of its own, inspiring a passion that has remained with me throughout my life.

Today

UK & INTERNATIONAL

No two days the same.

Today, I work with clients throughout the UK and internationally, dealing in a diverse range of jewellery and precious objects.

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to meet people and handle pieces that have often been part of a family's history for generations. No two days are ever the same, and there is always something new to discover.
